Chapter 26: Return of the Poachers

The next morning, the wolves got back on the road again.
"I hope we get home soon." Lilly says, "Everyone's still waiting."
"I'm sure we'll get home soon." Kate says, "We're already in Idaho and we should be close to Sawtooth."
"It'll be great to see that place again." Humphrey says, "Not to mention it's the first time the kids are visiting it too."
"Can we stop there?" Wildfire asks,
"Just for a little bit." Kate says, "We still have to get home."
A while later, the wolves had reached the destination.
"Here we are: Sawtooth National Wilderness." Kate says, stopping the bus in a parking lot.
The wolves exit the bus and explore the area for a while.
"This place is great!" Wildfire says as she runs around the area,
"I can learn to live here!" Ralph says,
"The pups sure are enjoying themselves." Humphrey says as he closely watches Wildfire and Jet,
"They sure are." Hutch says, "They've been away from home for a long time already."
"I hope we get back to Jasper quickly." Lilly says, "I'm starting to miss my parents."
"Same here." Humphrey says, "I didn't get to spend much time with them since they had returned."
However, unknown to the wolves, a human was spying on them from a distance, this human happened to be the same one that was a member of the poachers Humphrey and the others pulled pranks to get the Poachers to leave Jasper. The next thing the wolves knew, the sharp pain of a tranquilizer dart hit them and they got sleepy. All 8 adult wolves were soon unconscious, save for the pups and the foxes.
"OK, we got the wolves." The human says into a walkie-talkie,
"Excellent, Eric." Darwin says from the walkie-talkie, "Now we can sell them for good profit."
Eric soon exits his hiding place along with 2 other men, then they get the wolves into crates and put them on a truck. Unknown to them though, the pups had seen the whole thing and wouldn't be separated from their parents that time.
"Let's go!" Wildflower says, quickly getting back onto the bus.
"But we don't even know how to drive!" Aatu says,
"We'll deal with that later!" Wildfire says, getting in the driver's seat. "Right now, we have to follow that truck!"
The bus soon got started and drove off after the truck with Wildfire steering.
"You sure you can do this?" Hunter asks,
"I-I think so." Wildfire says, trying to avoid losing her grip on the steering wheel.
"I got your back, sis!" Jet says, jumping onto the driver's seat and helping Wildfire keep the bus on course.
Eventually, the bus followed the truck to some sort of a large shack.
"What're they going to do with them?" Comet asks,
"I'm not sure." Wildfire says, "But what matters most is that we get them out of there."
Wildfire parks the bus behind some trees to hide it from getting seen by the poachers. Then the pups go up to the shack.
"Is there a way in?" Wildfire asks,
"I'll check." Jet says, then he runs around the building at high speed and returns a few seconds later. "There are 3 doors, all are locked, and at least 6 or 8 windows, also locked. If Hunter attempts to break the doors or windows open, we'll be caught for sure."
"Then we'll have to find another way." Wildfire says,
"Ventilation shaft anyone?" Lupa asks, looking at an opening to a vent going into the shack.
"Then that's where we'll go." Wildfire says, "But we can't all go in."
"I'll wait out here." Hunter says, "When we get out parents out, give me a signal to knock the doors or windows down."
"Got it." Wildfire says,
"I'm going in." Lupa says, "I may be the shyest of the pups, but no one takes my mother from me."
"I'll go in too." Jet says, "You'll need my speed."
"Same here." Star says, "I don't want to lose my mother."
"I'm coming in too." Aatu says, "You'll need an experienced fighter to help you out."
"We foxes can be very helpful too." Farley says, "We are cunning creatures."
"Then it's settled." Wildfire says, we'll go into the shack while Hunter and the others stay here.
