Chapter 30: Happy Ending

Later that night, a celebration at Howling Rock was held for the return of Kate, Humphrey, Lilly, Garth, Hutch, Wildflower, Claw, and the pups as well as the arrival of Shadow and the foxes.

"So this is what you do for celebrations?" Farley asks, listening to the howls of the wolves around the area.

"Yes." Kate says, "We always do this for a celebration."

"Interesting." Krystal says,

"Maybe we could join in." James says,

"I don't think my pack did anything like this." Comet says,

"Same here." Luna says, "But it looks fun."

Meanwhile, Salty, Shakey, Mooch, Reba, Janice, and Candy were also howling as their pups watched.

"Wow, that's cool!" Ruby says,

"Amazing!" Tami says,

"Thanks." Candy says,

"Why don't you try now?" Reba asks,

"Sure!" Talluah says as she and the others run into the circle and start howling,

"No thanks." Kimi says, backing away a bit.

"Just try." Janice says gently, giving Kimi a convincing nudge in the process.

Soon enough, Kimi joined in the howling and enjoyed it. Meanwhile, Claw and Scar had joined the other wolves in the howling. Suddenly, Blade comes out of nowhere.

"Gotcha!" Blade says as he tackles Claw,

"Whoa!" Claw says as she falls onto Scar, knocking the brown wolf onto his back with her on top.

"Blade!" Scar says playfully,

"Sorry." Blade says,

Suddenly, Scar grabs Blade by the neck scruff and pulls him to the ground.

"Now I've got you!" Scar says as he tickles Blade,

"Hey, stop!" Blade says, "That tickles!"

Nearby, Shadow had seen the whole thing.

"Pups these days." Shadow says, laughing a bit.

Meanwhile, further up the mountain, Shadow had found Hutch and his family ready to join the celebration.

"Ready for this?" Hutch asks,

"You bet." Wildflower says, then she and Hutch start howling the song they played last time with Aatu, Ralph, and Lupa joining in.

Comet had managed to reach the area where Hutch and his family were and was surprised by how great Lupa's howling was.

"Wow, your howling is beautiful." Comet says,

"Oh, thank you." Lupa says, blushing a bit.

"May I join in?" Comet asks,

"I don't see why not." Lupa says,

"Go ahead." Wildflower says between her howling,

Comet soon joins in the howling, in which he and Lupa form a duet.

"They sure are doing great." Luna says from below the platform Hutch's family is on,

"They sure are." Danielle says,

"They make a perfect team." Conrad says,

"Indeed." Shadow says as he sits next to Conrad,

Meanwhile, somewhere near the base of the mountain, Farley, Krystal, and James had joined in the howling along with Marcel and Paddy.

"This sure is fun!" James says, enjoying himself.

"It sure is." Marcel says,

"You foxes sure are good at this." Winston says, walking up to the group.

"Not to mention how fun it is." James says,

"Well, keep on enjoying yourselves." Winston says as he walks up to Eve, "You ready?"

"I'm more than ready." Eve says, then she and Winston join in the howling.

Meanwhile, Star and Hunter were howling together with their parents watching. Then they stop and look at Garth and Lilly.

"That's my girl." Lilly says as she gives her daughter a hug,

"Way to go, son." Garth says as he gives Hunter a rub on the head,

"Thanks, Dad." Hunter says,

"You 2 sure are doing great." Niara says as she walks up,

"Thanks, Grandma." Star says,

"Hope you don't mind us joining in." Tony says,

"Not at all." Lilly says,

Tony and Niara soon join in on the howling with Lilly, Garth, Star, and Hunter.

Meanwhile, at the top of the small mountain, Kate and Humphrey walked up with Wildfire and Jet.

"Ready for this?" Humphrey asks,

"Oh yeah." Wildfire says,

"Ready." Jet says,

Wildfire and Jet start howling, soon followed by Kate and Humphrey. The howling lasted until everyone left Howling Rock and returned to their dens, Shadow had gotten a den of his own and shared it with the foxes while Hutch and his family shared their den with Comet and Luna.

"Thanks for letting us stay here." Luna says, lying down next to Danielle and Wildflower.

"You're welcome." Danielle says as she falls asleep with Conrad,

"We're happy to share our den with anyone." Hutch says as Aatu falls asleep next to him,

"Thanks anyway." Comet says as he falls asleep next to Wildflower and Lupa,

In the Alpha's den…

"Hope you had enough fun to get to sleep." Eve says to Wildfire as the red-orange pup snuggles up to Kate.

"I did." Wildfire says,

"Good." Eve says, lying down next to Winston. "Good night."

"Good night." Wildfire says as she falls asleep with Kate following,

"See you in the morning." Humphrey says as he falls asleep with Jet next to him.

Meanwhile, in the Eastern side of the Territory…

"Sure was fun tonight, wasn't it?" Lilly asks Star, who had snuggled up to Lilly,

"It sure has." Star replies,

"Well, might as well get some sleep." Tony says as Niara lies down next to him, "You may need your energy tomorrow."

"You got that right." Hunter says as he falls asleep with Garth,

"See you in the morning." Star says as she falls asleep,

"Sweet dreams." Lilly says, giving Star a gentle lick before curling herself around the white pup.
